Master Bathroom
Original Condition on Closing Day
Plans - Everything will be replaced - cabinets, floor, lights, and fixtures. The floors will be tiled. The shower will be tiled. The tub will be replaced with a stand-alone tub. The bidet will be removed and replaced with a small closet. The wallpaper will be stripped and the molding will be painted white while leaving the doors as natural wood.

Contractor installed counter top. Installed, caulked, and painted wainscoting and moulding, Installed doors and new hardware.
Week 24 - Monday, April 6
Painted vanity walls. Installed light. Repaired walls.

Installed drywall. Installed toilet. Installed shower walls and repaired ceiling.

Repaired walls. Installed mouldings. Plumber finished water lines in cabinets.

Completed the tub removal. This took 3 full days. The more I try to take this house apart, the more I discover that it is well built.

Completed the tub removal. This took 3 full days. The more I try to take this house apart, the more I discover that it is well built.
This is a picture of the tub partially removed. It shows that the tile was attached to a layer of concrete that was an inch or more thick.
The platform on the ends and back were tiled. Below the tile was the 1"+ of concrete, a layer of 3/4" plywood, and 2 layers of 2" wood. The picture beloe shows the bottom of the plywood. It resembles a bed of nails.
Completed the shower removal including rewiring the light switch to move it from the shower area. The shower took 2 full days.
Due to the wet work of wallpaper removal and the electrical work in the bathroom, I have spent several hours mapping portions of the electrical system to the appropriate circuit breaker.
