Week 2 - Monday, November 5

Photos taken on or before Monday, November 5.

Week 2 of our renovation work was a lot harder than the first week.  I have determined that this house is pretty well put together.  It took all week just to get the shower and tub out.  I did take some time to start putting things back together and allow Susan to do some of the lighter work.

Master Bathroom - Original

Master Bathroom - Week 1
Began dissembling the shower
by breaking walls to determine
water line locations.

Master Bathroom - Week 2
Completed the tub removal.  This took 3 full days.  The more I try to take this house apart, the more I discover that it is well built.

This is a picture of the tub partially removed.  It shows that the tile was attached to a layer of concrete that was an inch or more thick.

The platform on the ends and back were tiled.  Below the tile was the 1"+ of concrete, a layer of 3/4" plywood, and 2 layers of 2" wood.  The picture beloe shows the bottom of the plywood.  It resembles a bed of nails.

Completed the tub removal including rewiring the light switch to move it from the shower area.  The shower took 2 full days.

Due to the wet work of wallpaper removal and the electrical work in the bathroom, I have spent several hours mapping portions of the electrical system to the appropriate circuit breaker.
